When our California client wanted to update her existing master shower, she was looking for a practical solution that would improve the space without the cost and disruption of a complete shower remodel. The existing shower floor tile was deteriorating, and she wanted a custom teak shower floor that would provide a warm, elevated look while creating a more comfortable and slip-resistant surface. After discussing the project and measurements with the client, Carib Teak designed and handcrafted a custom teak shower floor specifically for her existing shower. Because the finished floor needed to sit flush with the surrounding bathroom tile, we customized the height to 1-3/4 inches, rather than our standard 1-15/16-inch construction. We also designed the teak shower floor in two separate pieces. This thoughtful detail makes the floor easier to lift and remove when the shower needs to be cleaned, helping with long-term maintenance and practicality. Teak is an excellent choice for shower applications because of its natural durability, moisture resistance, and longevity. Its rich, warm appearance also adds a beautiful touch of natural wood to an otherwise traditional bathroom environment. The finished result gave our client a custom solution without requiring a complete shower renovation.
